Will Roundy is an encaustic artist based in the rural mountain town of Joseph, Oregon. Drawing inspiration from the pristine nature of eastern Oregon, Will uses beeswax, pigment and fire to create layers of bold organic line work and color. From an early age, the artist was captivated by modern abstract art and began experimenting with nonrepresentational imagery at the age of 12.
“Encaustic painting is a slow and meditative process and I continue to strive for quiet simplicity of form and complexity of emotion.”
